Mermaid Painting

A fun painting I did for my niece Sienna! I started it back in May as you might remember and then my sister reminded me about it LOL so I went ahead and finished it. Its ultra sparkly which you can't really see in this pic, but when the sun or light hits it it dazzles away LOL I kinda want to keep it for myself! If you click on the pic it'll open up bigger and you can see the sparkliness lol I'm going to put a scroll in that open shell coz Sienna calls them 'book shells' so I'll write a little story for the mermaid who will live in a crystal castle under the sea :D

I had to come back for another look - you have blown my mermaids out of the water with this stunner!!! I love how you used pink for her tail, why am I stuck on GREEN!? LOL, might experiment with colours in my next one, cheers Val

Hi Val! I have no idea why I used pink actually lol prob coz Sienna loves pink I guess! Yeah cool you could do heaps of coloured tails, hey you could even do a green sea and a blue tail! and Yellow with ochre/light brown shadows and yellowy/white highlights would be cool too look real gold and regal like a princess mermaid or something lol - just some ideas if you want to try something else from green and your mind is being stubborn, but green is good your mermaids are ultra cute mate!

I would do some more but they'd probaly end up turning out like those deep sea creatures with evil eyes and encrusted hair and spikes up their backs, not good for kiddies lol....ooh okay I'm probaly going to have to do one like that now lol, for my own wall coz it'll be more of a horror mermaid.

Lemme know if you want some shells and I'll collect some on my walks and send em to you.

Hi Jade, I think lol that I have had it with mermaids up to here (me pointing at the top of my head) - but next time I will go for a different colour tail - yes, whites and creams and golds will be nice together - a touch regal!

Will let you know about the shells - better yet, we should come for a visit and I should go to the beach on my own to pick up shells lol.

Cheers Val

Yeah hard to sell at the moment, don't give up, your word is fantastic - especially your sea! I hope you are coping alright with your mum and leave some energy for yourself!

Hi WEndi! Yeah I hope she does like it! I glued shells on the edges too - hopefully they don't come off in transit! oh hey thanks, I wish I could remember how I did her skin...I just remember I did a dead layer underneath like the flemish, then can't remember what I mixed after LOL its like a glitch in my mind dammit
