Acrylic Apocalypse Painting: Providence

'Providence' Acrylic on canvas. 30cm x 90cm
And the sky glowed amber and the light grew muted. The earth was barren; raped and left to die. I had seen this all in my mind, in my dreams,as I rode upon a great train that snaked up the highest mountain, while the world below me burned...
This is one of three paintings I just dropped off this evening for the Chelsea Art Show. The other two, one was a still life that I forgot to photograph (except for on m'mobile) and the third one was Cavallo Bianco di Notte

Hi Kay! Yeah actually I sold this one at the Chelsea, so was really happy about that, especially since it is a genre I like to paint. At Sherbrooke they didn't hang my Venus just my boring landscape (I think my Venus was a little too surreal, what with flowers growing out of the material? or naked!! LOL) Thanks heaps buddy. How about you did you put any stuff in?

Congratulations on your sale. Yes I think Sherbrooke have a rule about only realist stuff. I think it has something to do with their benefactor who donated the house for the gallery. I didn't go in Sherbrooke this year. I did go in the Belgrave Fire Brigade show which was just down the road a bit and sold a picture.

That's cool Kay - I think I saw pictures online somewhere with that fire brigade show. Are you going to go in the Bayside show?

magicmyst said...

Oh, I haven't heard about the Bayside show. Do you have any details?

Here's the website: http://www.thebaysideartshow.com.au/Home/Home.asp I think entries due about mid July, show is august? But if you put in your forms whenever, they let you change your entry up til the day (very good of them I think, in case you sell it before hand)
I've never been to this show but think it might be okay, its sposed to be quite big, and is in Brighton.
What do you reckon?

Thanks for the details Jade, Wendi has given me the link as well. I have entered into the show. Wendi is doing my drop off as I am away that weekend. Kay

I love it love it love it! If I ever get to be a rich and famous author I want them to hire you to do the covers, and the color inserts in the trade paperback editions!
